CAMPUS

The campus building has a built-up area of 20,000 square feet. The main building consists of two floors and the total area amounts to 3 acres. The academy campus houses all the necessary facilities for smooth training and well being of the trainees and is divided into 3 blocks, viz. Academic Block, Residential Block and Admin Block. 

The NFSSA campus is unique in its own ways. One of the distinctive features is the Eco-friendliness of the campus. The campus houses an STP for waste management that processes the campus waste and the treated water from it is used in everyday activities like watering the green areas and flowers and cleaning purposes.

ACADEMIC BLOCK

The Academic Block has four classrooms for the training sessions. It also houses a library which has all the latest periodicals, course related books and other genres for trainees to have a leisure time reading. There's a computer lab with about 20+ well-update systems and an expandable space to fit 30 more. Server Room, Staff Room, Fire Display Room and recreational area  is also in the Academic Block itself.

The campus has two resident apartments with a capacity of incorporating up to 10 people. It's to facilitate the operations and management inside the premises easier at  any time.

Situated in the Academic Block, the Fire Display Room contains various tools and equipment used to train the firefighting trainees –

  • Breathing Apparatus

  • BA Systems – Used for providing breathable air to firefighters in an atmosphere filled with smoke and other harmful gases

  • Fire Extinguishers of all types

  • Ladders

  • Ropes

  • Hose Reel Nozzles – Male and Female Coupling – To train the firefighters for fire extinguishing procedures

  • Fire Panels – A component of the fire alarm system that receives signals from the devices that detect fire

  • Smoke Detecting Sprinklers – Smart water sprinklers that get activated when smoke is detected

SECURITY TRAINING LAB

The Security Training Lab has a number of security apparatus to train the security personnel of tomorrow. These include –

  • Baggage Scanner – A security device that scans the contents of a baggage so as to check the presence of any prohibited item in a certain facility

  • Door Frame Metal Detector (DFMD) – A metal detecting machine built in a shape of a doorway through which the entrants need to pass

  • Boom Barrier – A barrier system that uses bars to stop unauthorized access to a certain place

  • Flap Barrier – Another barrier system that checks unauthorized entry with metal or plastic flaps

  • Radio Set – Communication devices for security personnel

  • CCTV Camera

  • Access Control Trainer

  • Guard Touring System – Device systems that execute guard patrols so that a company can ensure that their officers accomplish their task within the defined time range

OUTDOOR FACILITIES

GROUND

The ground of the academy has 10 obstacles to mimic real life situations that the personnel might face which include –

  • Zig-Zag

  • Vertical Rope – Creates a climbing simulation to train the people in climbing buildings in cases of emergency

  • Left and Right Vaults – This is an obstacle course that trains the people to vault through a hurdle, i.e., to jump or dive over it.

  • Gate Vault

  • Monkey Crawl

  • Trench Crawl – A crawling exercise obstacle that prepares the trainees to move through low and narrow spaces
