-JOB DESCRIPTION

The fireman job is to carry out rescue operations and mitigate emergency and fire situations, by using appropriate fire-fighting equipment's and safety devices. The Fire-fighter extinguishes fire, rescues trapped personnel, and responds to various manmade and natural disasters

  • Theory and Practical Duration – 06 months

  • Introduction

  • Intimation and assessment of on-site fire and hazards

  • Selection of appropriate response and equipment

  • Putting out small fires using portable extinguishers

  • Controlling big fires till arrival of help

  • Responding to the fire incidents using fire-fighting systems

  • Rescue operations

  • First aid given to injured personnel

  • Administration of medical first aid

  • Operational readiness of fire safety equipment and systems

  • Work area safety

  • Personal health and hygiene

  • Working effectively

After completing this programme, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the type of fire and response required.

  2. Use a portable extinguisher to put out small fires.

  3. Keep big fires under control till the arrival of help and equipment.

  4. Identify types and construction of firefighting systems.

  5. Respond to fires, hazards, and other emergencies.

  6. Operate various firefighting systems.

  7. Respond to fire incidents using fire-fighting systems.

  8. Carry out rescue operations at an incident site.

  9. Administer medical first-aid to victims.

  10. Inspect installed fire safety equipment and systems for operational readiness.

  11. Maintain health and safety of self and others as a fire-fighter.

  12. Work effectively in a team as a fire-fighter.
